Magician Conversation Starters
Bring these questions to your next magic meeting or convention to break the ice and get into some interesting discussions.
At a recent Calgary Magic Circle meeting I planned an evening of strolling magic. I had three performers rotating between three tables doing 10-ish minutes each. I knew there would need to be a bit of a buffer time between and didn’t want to folks to get bored at their tables.
I created a set of magical conversation starters! Each table got a set of eight cards with a prompt to spur some interesting discussion. It seemed to go very well at my table, and other folks had good things to say about it, too.
Here they are for your own ponderance:
- What's a piece of advice that changed how you perform?
- Is there a non-magic skill that has made you a better magician?
- Who had a major influence on the way you perform magic?
- Share a practical tip that has made your magical life a little easier.
- What is next on your magical to-do list?
- When was the last time you felt like you 'leveled-up' as a magician?
- What's something more magicians ought to know about?
- What do you do differently than most magicians?
